Reliance Precision Australia is a sovereign Australian business completing work across various industries including Defence, Aerospace, Scientific/Medical Instrumentation. Established in 2003 the business represents several foreign manufacturers within the Australian market, but also completes the manufacturing of standard and bespoke sub-assemblies for customers
What was happening when you engaged Transfirm?
We’d identified opportunities to develop sovereign capability in the assembly of precision components for the defense sector. To deliver on this opportunity we required a robust, secure, digital management system that was independently certified to ISO 9001:2018 and could scale to the future needs of the business, such as future certification to the aerospace standard AS 9100.
What was the first thing you did with Transfirm?
We conducted a ‘discovery phase’ with Transfirm that gave the directors a lot of confidence in how the process of working together would unfold. Specifically, we agreed on how we would build the online management system, how it would be rolled out, and a roadmap for successful auditing and awarding of British Standards Institution (BSI) certification within 6 months.
How did you feel at the time?
As with any investment, there is some nervousness around making the right decision, but the experience and professionalism that Transfirm displayed gave the directors great confidence that the project would be completed in a professional manner.
What made the most impact?
There were numerous things – having a professional and scalable system, the professionalism of the Transfirm team and the ability for the system to be tailored to reflect the business needs.
What would you say you achieved overall from working with Transfirm?
We have moved from informal processes to having them streamlined, digital and simply documented. The management processes are built to be able to evolve as we grow, and the business is now more digital, robust and practical to manage. We are now operating at a whole new level that will be meet and exceed the requirements of even our most sophisticated clients and suppliers.
